Our maternity session on the beach in Rhode Island!
For 7 years our whole world has been pink. Princesses, tutus… we’ve even found glitter in dirty diapers. When we planned this session, all I knew was that I wanted it to be BLUE. And at the beach! Baby G #3’s nursery is a nautical theme that I’ll be blogging about soon and I thought these pics would be fun to hang in his room in colorful Organic Bloom frames. More on that later!
We had just wrapped hosting a 3 day workshop out of our studio and I was still only in my second trimester, but we found a rare free date in the calendar and scheduled the shoot while we could! I found the perfect dress for myself on Rent The Runway and indulged my Tutu Du Monde obsession for the girls. Hopefully we get another use out of their gorgeous dresses at the newborn shoot. And, of course, we’ll add them to our growing collection at the studio for clients to play dress up!
Mariah did an amazing job (as usual) capturing this time for us. It’s funny, with my first pregnancy, I didn’t want to be in ANY pictures. I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin. I’m one of those lucky women who gain 50+ pounds when they’re pregnant. And I’m only 5 feet tall! I suppose that’s what happens when your husband is over 6 feet tall! With my second pregnancy, I wanted a few keepsakes that mostly focused on Giuliana welcoming her little sister. That was actually our very first shoot with Mariah when she came on board HHP! (Remember it?)
With this, my third and final pregnancy, I surprised myself with how excited I was for this shoot. I am so grateful to have these portraits to look back on and remember my last pregnancy and the joy of our family anticipating the newest member. Knowing it’s my last pregnancy makes me want to hang onto the feeling of every little kick and craving and sleepless night that much more. We have just over 13 weeks until we get to meet this little guy!
We’ve done many amazing things as a family in the past few years, but the time we set aside for portraits is by far the best thing I’ve ever done. They mean more to me with each year that passes.
Thanks again Mariah for these gorgeous memories! And thank you to Salon KG for my boho glam hair and makeup!
Oh, and just for fun, I’ll include the girls reaction to finding out they were having a brother in the Gender Reveal video below!
Heidi…if I could come back, it would be as you! You really do have it all going on 🙂
What a gorgeous maternity shoot…if I could only stress the importance of hair, makeup and wardrobe…that’s really half the battle. Good for you! I am in love with that video…ADORABLE!!
best to you and your family..
